Tomáš Doucha

Born in 1943. Graduate of the Czech Agricultural University Prague in 1965. Since 1980 works as a researcher on economy of agrarian sector and agricultural policy. He has functioned as deputy director for research and director (1998 – 2004) of the Research Institute of Agricultural Economics (now the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Information - IAEI) and in 2006 – 2007 also as deputy minister of agriculture. At present works as senior researcher in the IAEI. From the research position he substantially contributed in strategies for the Czech agrarian sector and in formation of Czech agricultural policies. He underwent research scholarships in more countries (UK, USA, Japan, etc.) and cooperation with OECD, FAO and World Bank. He was/still is a member of many international or domestic institutions (e. g. Executive Committee of the European Association of Agricultural Economists, the Presidency of the Czech Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Editorial Board of the Agricultural Economic – CZ etc.).
