Job title: Managing Director, Head of Investment Banking, Austria and Central and Eastern Europe
Lucas joined UBS in 1981 and has over 26 years experience in the industry with a particular focus on emerging markets in Europe, Asia and Latin America. He was based in Moscow for three years (1998–2000) and has been actively involved in developing the Group's business in Russia and other parts of Eastern Europe since 1996. He assumed responsibility for the firm’s activities in Austria in 2005. Prior to his involvement in Eastern Europe, he was based in Hong Kong (1994–95) as Head of Asian Corporate Finance. He also spent a total of six years with UBS in New York, most recently in 1989–1992 as Head of US Equity Capital Markets developing the firm’s equity new issue franchise in the US and Latin America. From 1994–1997, he was also Co-Head of UBS’s Global Privatisations Team. Lucas has a Master of Arts degree from Cambridge University in England.
