While Hungary's mortgage market has already passed its first stage of booming growth, dynamic expansion is expected to characterise the sector also in the next five years. Portfolio.hu's mortgage lending and home financing conference puts the spotlight on the future of this segment, with special focus on product innovation, a rise in risk appetite and consumer demand. To provide the audience with a clear and unbiased picture on the local mortgage scene, the presenters include the biggest Hungarian players, as well as property market experts and foreign professionals.
The target group of our conference is the middle and top managers of retail lenders, all those taking part in the sales process and property investors.
The Portfolio.hu conferences are highly renowned for their great opportunities of networking and building business relationships, merely not just giving new professional knowledge. Our aim is not to have a one time occasion event, but creating a yearly international interactive forum about the changes of the market.
Some Speakers’ sentences about topics:" The conference provides a comprehensive overview of the contemporary hot topics affecting our lives both as professionals and private individuals in the promising but challenging mortgage finance market. Right positioning, guest for market share while maintaining portfolio quality is an exciting task for all of us in this business under the current stroined economic circumstances." Dr. Imre Balogh, MKB
Key items on the agenda:• Impacts of the liquidity crisis
• Hardships of finding capital
• The sub-prime phenomenon in Hungary
• The role of agents in selling credit
• Where do we stand and where are we heading? - Outlook
Portfolio.hu will hold its second Mortgage Lending and Home Financing Conference in May 2008. The aim of the event is to create a professional forum for financers and agents where they can address the growth opportunities and hurdles in their trade in a professional manner. There can be no question about the timeliness of such an event, given that a total of HUF 1,420 billion worth of mortgage based loans extended in Hungary in 2007, 30% more than in 2006.
While the dynamic growth of the sector was supplemented by product development and innovations on the market, three serious factors began to rattle this idyllic state at the end of last year. The worldwide liquidity crunch may remould the supply side of lending considerably, while the proliferation of foreign currency, and especially Japanese yen-based loans has already began to raise hollers from the regulators’ part. Meanwhile, the role of agents - just like their related commissions - is becoming pronounced at the sale of these loans.
The dynamic growth of the sector and the concerns that resurface time and time again about its future make Portfolio.hu’s Mortgage Lending and Home Financing Conference one of the hottest professional events in 2008.The full-day conference will put special emphasis on the hardships to gain access to capital, the pros and cons on yen-based lending/borrowing and will also examine thoroughly the key issues of the sales side of the market. Moreover, it will also explore in depth whether a sub-prime phenomenon is something that needs to be dealt with in Hungary or not.
The target audience:Our conference can provide useful information to:
1. middle and top management of financial institutions dealing in retail lending;
2. players on the sales side of the sector;
3. investors on the real estate market.
Our conference is expected not only to provide an opportunity to expand the participants’ knowledge base, but also to create an excellent forum for high-level networking and the forging of new professional relations. Our goal is more than just to organise another cut an dry event; we strive to make this conference a regular, interactive and international forum that keeps its finger on the pulse of the market.
