Tjidsger Wierda is a Partner and Corporate ESG consultant at the Walvius Group, a boutique sustainability consultancy for the commercial real estate sector in Europe, with a particular focus on Central and Eastern Europe. He works with a team of dedicated professionals to assist companies in developing and implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies and policies on a corporate level. Tjidsger helps clients navigate the complex landscape of sustainability standards and regulations and align their operations accordingly. As a GRI Certified Sustainability Professional, he has helped numerous listed and non-listed clients establish Sustainability Reporting, including ambition setting, staff training, ESG accounting, and assessments such as GRESB and corporate ESG rating systems.
Tjidsger began his career at Tauw Netherlands, a leading Dutch consultancy firm, where he worked on projects such as the National (Environmental) Adaptation scan. He later moved to Tauw Iberia, where he played an essential role in exchanging knowledge on sustainability-related topics between the two countries. Education has always been a significant aspect of his career, leading him to successfully start a B2C business focused on education. After a decade in education, he returned to the corporate advisory world in 2020. Tjidsger believes that a lack of education is at the core of many of today's ESG issues. With the partnership between Tjidsger and Walvius Group, the firm provides clients with highly specialized Real Estate ESG consulting and effective knowledge exchange, with the main aim to enable clients to carry out the work themselves after each engagement. He holds degrees in European Studies and Public Management and is committed to continuous learning, as evidenced by his growing number of certificates and his continuous influx of new information into the Walvius Group and its clients.
