Istvan Szabo has worked at European Investment Bank in Luxembourg since 2009 as a Senior Sector Engineer. As a sector expert, he carries out technical appraisals of the energy projects to be financed by the Bank. Between 2000 and 2009, he worked in different businesses of General Electric (GE Healthcare, GE Energy, GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy) in different positions (Safety and Regulatory Manager, Quality Management Advisor, Regional Market Development Director) in Hungary and in Russia. Between 1989 and 2000, He worked at the Paks Nuclear Power Plant as investment system engineer, reactor physicist and safety engineer. He received his master degree as engineer-heat physicist in 1989 at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute and his MBA in 2003 at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
