Studied economics at the J.K. University of Linz, and graduated with a Masters Degree. He participated in the project "labor market research" at the J. K. University of Linz and served as an assistant at the Institute of Economic Theory at the J.K. University of Linz before working as an economist in the economics department of "Zentralsparkasse" in Vienna. Since 2001 he has been deputy head of the economics department at Bank Austria Creditanstalt AG and Deputy Chief Economist. His specialtiy areas of expertise are CEE, the Austrian economy, financial markets and the EU, CEE and the euro and the banking market in CEE. Stefan Bruckbauer for many years lectured in economic theory at the University of Linz and lectured economics at the "Fachhochschule für Bank und Finanzwirtschaft" in Vienna. Currently he runs courses for fund and portfolio managers. Stefan Bruckbauer has written numerous articles on Austria, CEE, labor market issues, interest rates, forex, economic issues, banking and the euro. Recent publications include: "12+8=20 - The Euro in Eastern Europe" 2004 or "CEE Banking Market after EU Accession - Prospects to 2013".
