András Simor was appointed Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in October 2014. He joined the EBRD on 1 July 2013 as Vice President, Policy. He is responsible for Treasury Operations, Loan Syndications, Local Currency and Capital Market Development, Financial Strategy, Business Planning and Budget, and Control and Reporting. He is a member of EBRD’s Executive Committee the Operations Committee.
Before joining the EBRD, Mr Simor was Governor of the National Bank of Hungary from 2007 to 2013.
From 1999 to 2007, he was Chairman and Office Managing Partner at Deloitte Hungary and a member of the Board of Directors for Deloitte Central Europe. Prior to this, he was non-executive Chairman of the Board of the Budapest Stock Exchange, from 1998 to 2002. He was Chairman of the Managing Board of CAIB Investment Bank A.G., Vienna, 1997 to 1998 and Chairman and CEO of Creditanstalt Securities from 1989 to 1997.
Mr Simor was named ‘Central Banker of the Year for Emerging Europe’ by Euromoney Emerging Markets Magazine in 2010 and ‘One of the top 50 Business Executives in Europe’ by Business Week Europe in 2001.
