Wilhelm Simons is partner of PwC Austria. His specific focus is CEE markets. Before joining the Vienna team of PwC he was Assurance leader of the Romanian practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is a Certified Public Accountant (Wirtschaftsprüfer) and Tax Adviser (Steuerberater) and joined PwC in 1989 in the Frankfurt office of PwC.
Wilhelm led also the Assurance practice in Poland where he worked 9 years (starting with November 1998). In 2007 he moved to Romania. He has substantial experience in special projects gained through his work on many long-term international assignments. Wilhelm has extensive experience in consulting, especially focusing on private sector development in the fields of auditing, financial and economic analysis, cost accounting, budgeting, restructuring and privatisation. He has significant experience in emerging markets (in CEE since 1996), where he was involved in the development of the private sector industry projects financed by the European Union, the EBRD and other International Financial Institutions, which were carried out in Central Europe. He was several years Board member of the “Foreign Investors Council” in Romania.
