Shafi Syed is the SVP Hotel Development at Caesars Entertainment, and leads the Group’s development for EMEA based out of London. Caesars Entertainment is distinctly positioned as a global leader in experiential hospitality and entertainment, offering luxury/lifestyle hotels, world-class entertainment, signature dining, vibrant nightlife, and celebrity partnerships. Caesars Entertainment is expanding its empire into global gateway cities via HMA’s, acquisitions and JV’s. The focus in Europe includes destinations such as London, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, Milan, Berlin, Munich, Amsterdam, Athens and more. Iconic brands include Caesars Palace, Flamingo, The LINQ and an exciting new luxury lifestyle brand. Shafi brings over 25 years of development expansion experience across hotels and branded real estate. Prior to joining Caesars, Shafi was the Chief Development Officer for Jumeirah Group. He has held senior positions in development at Wyndham, Trump Hotels and Taj Hotels. Shafi is a graduate of the Institute of Hotel Management, Bangalore and holds an Advanced Certification in Real Estate & Hotel Investments from Cornell University, New York. He has lived and worked in Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
