Tamás Palicz

Dr. Tamás Palicz obtained his doctoral degree in medicine at the University of Debrecen in 1993, then in 1998 he became a specialist in internal medicine at the 3rd Department of Medicine of Semmelweis University. After several years of clinical practice he started to plan, implement and monitor EU-funded projects. He has been working as a manager since 2003, initially as Deputy Director General of the Directorate General for Strategy and Operational Development at Semmelweis University, and from 2005 as Medical Director of the Kútvölgy Clinic. Between 2010 and 2013, he was the Head of the Managing Authority for Human Resources Development and Renewal Operational Programs (TIOP and TÁMOP) of the National Development Agency, which was responsible for planning and monitoring the implementation of these projects. From 2013, he worked for two years as the Deputy Director General of the National Institute for Health Development and as the professional leader of the TÁMOP-612A-14/1-A project, where he was responsible for the introduction of school health promotion. Since the end of 2015, he is the Deputy Strategic Director at the Health Services Management Training Centre of Semmelweis University, where he earned his Masters's degree in Healthcare Management in 2001. His main areas of interest are process-oriented management of healthcare organisations, leading organisational changes and project management in healthcare. In recent years, in the context of the digital transformation of healthcare, he has begun to address cybersecurity issues within healthcare organisations.
