David Nagy is the Head of Central/Eastern Europe (CEE) region for UnionPay International Co. (A fully owned subsidiary of China UnionPay), the largest bankcard organization in the world. He has received a B.S. degree in Marketing/Management from Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ (USA), a Masters in Management (MBA) from the State University of New York at Buffalo, NY (USA) and has earned the FinTech: Future Commerce certificate at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT, USA) in 2017. In addition, he has been active in the area of merchant acquiring and card scheme business development since 2003. David has also been instrumental in introducing and developing the UnionPay brand in numerous countries in Europe, with close cooperation of both domestic and multinational payments enterprises. His current focus is on bringing established payment innovations and know-how from China/Asia to the CEE region, along with his core tasks of improving and strengthening the foothold of the UnionPay brand among financial institutions. Moreover, he has been presenting key findings on the influence and impact of Chinese tourism, especially focusing on travel-related consumption and Chinese payments trends and outlook for the foreseeable future to come.
