Martin Lea became President and CEO of HTCC on 27th April 2007, following HTCC’s acquisition of Invitel Zrt. Prior to that, he was CEO of Invitel from June 2004. With an early career in Sales and Marketing, he has spent the last 15 years leading businesses with sales of up to €500m, within the support services, telecommunications and network integration sectors. His international management experience extends across America, Europe and Asia. Prior to Invitel, from 2001 he served as Executive Vice President of Intertek Group Plc, where he was Chief Executive of its ETL-SEMKO division, a global product testing inspection and certification business. Before Intertek Martin was Managing Director of Racal Telecom, a national UK alternative telecom operator and managed service provider, where he was responsible for executing a new strategy, which led to it’s rapid growth and sale to Global Crossing in 2000. He thereafter served as President of Global Crossing’s integrated UK operations. Prior to Racal Telecom he led Racal Electronics Plc’s, data products, network integration and professional services businesses across Europe Middle East and Africa. He graduated in 1979 obtaining a BA 1st class (hons) degree in business studies. He has been married for the last 13 years to Samantha, and they have two children Henry and Sophia, with whom they live together in Budapest’s 2nd District. Other than work and family, his main interests are in trying to keep fit, horse racing, rock music, and enjoying budapest’s restaurants.
