István Lepsényi

István Lepsényi obtained a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Saint Petersburg (of Leningrad at the time), and then a degree in engineering economics from the Technical University of Budapest. From 1974 up until the change of regime he worked for the Ikarus Body-work and Vehicle Manufacturing Company, then he was President-CEO of Autokonszern Rt. for five years, and CEO of the Hungarian Suzuki company between 1991 and 1994. From 1995 to 2015 he was CEO of the Knorr-Bremse Brake Systems company, where he is President of the Supervisory Board at the moment. He is present in the management of many national and professional organizations, such as the National Association of Managers, of which he is the honorary president, the National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers, of which he is co-president, and the Hungarian Car Industry Association, where he is a member of the Board. He was awarded the Széchenyi Prize, as well as the Gábor Dénes Prize among others, and he received the Officer Cross, and then the Commander Cross of the Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic. In 2010 he was awarded Manager of the Year. He is a titular professor of the College of Kecskemét.
