Economist-sociologist. He started his career in 1987 at Budapest Bank as a bond trader. From 1989, he worked in various senior positions at Creditanstalt group, and later became the CEO of CA-IB, the investment bank managing the entire group. From 2000 to 2007, he was a member of OTP Bank Plc Board of Directors and deputy CEO managing the retail sector before becoming the owner and CEO of Lantos Vagyonkezelő Ltd. From December 1st, 2022 he was appointed Minister of the newly established Ministry of Energy. He is member and former chairman of the Board of Trustees of Kálmán Széll Foundation. He is one of the founders of the most prestigious Hungarian scientific award, the Bolyai Prize.
