Born 1961. He graduated from the Technical University of Budapest as an electrical engineer in 1983. He went on to perform scientific work as Ph.D.student in computer sciences on “Man-Machine Interaction”.
Joined Műszertechnika Rt. in 1986, where in the 80’s, before the political system change, he started the world-wide sourcing activity, introduced barter trading, integrated ERP system and established the office automation business line of the company which was sold under the name of Bravogroup in 2007, where he is a minority shareholder. He has been Member of the Board of Műszertechnika Rt. since 1990. Since December 1991 (the privatisation) he has been an owner-manager and a member in the Board of Directors of the Videoton Holding Rt. Since 1996 he has been dealing with the operative and strategic management of Videoton as a co-CEO together with Ottó Sinkó. Under their leadership Videoton has been the largest locally owned production company in Hungary for one and a half decade. Mr. Lakatos was chosen as a Global Leader for Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum in 1995, is member of the EBLC (European Business Leaders Convention) and the Board of CHEI (Confederation of Hungarian Employers and Industrialists). Mr. Lakatos is playing actively on international bridge tournaments, being member of the Hungarian national team regularly since 1980.
