During the democratic transformation, he started his career as a photojournalist and photo editor, and after a trip abroad, which was decisive in many ways, he found his true calling: he earned a Master’s degree in Geography at Eötvös University, Budapest. He wrote his diploma thesis on the volcanological research of the Szigliget Hills, but already in this work he sketched out the plan of a holistic nature trail. He has been working for the Balaton Uplands National Park Directorate for more than 20 years. In addition to his work in the field of geological nature conservation, he has always placed great emphasis on providing knowledge in a professionally authentic and at the same time experiential way. He played a key role in the establishment of the Bakony–Balaton UNESCO Global Geopark, founded by the Directorate. He is a member of the Global Geoparks Network Advisory Committee, a permanent delegate to the European Geoparks Network Coordination Committee and is also responsible for the evaluation of aspiring geoparks on behalf of UNESCO. He was awarded the Pro Natura Medal in 2022.
