Koppány Nagy is director of the Directorate of insurance, savings banks, financial enterprises and agencies supervision at the Hungarian National Bank since November 2013. During his 14-year career he has been gathering experiences in the insurance, savings banks and banking field. He obtained a degree in accountancy and actuarial degree from the Faculty of Business Management of Budapest Corvinus University. He has already been working for AEGON Magyarország while studying, first as a representative, then as a regional manager; then from 2004 he participated in creating ELLA Bank as a branch manager. From 2007 he had a share in integrating the bank, the insurance company and the savings bank businesses of AXA Csoport Magyarország, as director of the Group’s branch network. Between 2012 and 2013 he was working on founding a financial “startup”, and establishing its legal and infrastructural background as CEO. During the time he has been working for MNB he put an emphasis on carrying out a supervision based on the values of stability and trust. He is a member of the main decision making body (Board of Supervisors) of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), and the editorial board of such journals as Biztosítás és Kockázat, and Hitelintézeti Szemle.
