After studying mechanical engineering, Jens Bühler joined the company in 2003 as a specialist for production processes and materials technology at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen. After holding various positions in process design, he took over as head of production planning for the MRA series (GLC and E-Class) at the Beijing Benz Automotive Company (BBAC) plant in 2014. He played a key role in the realization of the BBAC MRA II plant expansion and was later responsible for the design of the Kecskemét plant expansion project and, from 2018, for the development of the strategic development and target system of Mercedes-Benz Operations.
Since 2021, he has been head of global factory planning at Mercedes-Benz. In this position, he played a key role in the transformation of the production planning functions at Mercedes-Benz Cars and defined the design guidelines for the future factories of Mercedes-Benz AG. With his extensive experience as a project manager – and with the team he leads – he has managed the company's construction and production projects worldwide for the past three years. Jens Bühler has been CEO of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary Kft. since January 2024.
