Mr. Hegyi graduated as an economist specializing in tourism in Budapest in 1989. He was appointed as managing director at the company developing the golf course at Bükfürdő, Western Hungary in 1990. Since 1991 he has been the founding president of the Birdland Golf & Country Club at the same location, and since 2002 has taken an active role in the tourism related property developments, such as the five star Radisson SAS Birdland Resort & Spa Hotel (opened in 2004), the recently finished Birdland Villapark (exists of 200 apartment-residences), as well as future projects like a hotel, a pensioner park and a Shopping Mall.
Since 1999 Mr. Hegyi has been a consultant to the Parliamentary Committee responsible for tourism issues. Since 2003 he has been an active member of the Hungarian Hotel Association and since 2004 the board of the Hungarian Golf Association.
