Mr. Polacsek is heading the Structured Finance operations of HVB Bank Hungary, being responsible for acquisitions finance, project finance, syndications, trade finance and documentary business. Prior to joining HVB Bank and a short period of private advisory, Mr. Polacsek spent six years with CA IB, being responsible for the corporate finance activities, including M&A, equity and debt capital markets. Prior to CA IB, Mr. Polacsek was working for Deloitte & Touche in Hungary and in the US for seven years. Major transactions include advising Richter in the acquisition in Poland, advising the buyer consortium in the privatization of Hungaropharma, advising PKN in the negotiations with MOL, advising SanPaolo IMI in the take-over of Inter-Európa Bank, sale of Elender to PSINet, privatizations of Pick Szeged, OTP or the recent accelerated equity offering of MOL and the exchangeable bond issue of ÁPV (Richter-transaction). Mr. Polacsek earned his Masters and Doctorate at the Budapest University of Economic Sciences and also had studies in the Netherlands. Mr. Polacsek is a registered CPA in Hungary and in the United States.
