Job title: Acting professional leader, Hungarian Federation of the Blind and Partially Sighted - PhD studen
Dr. Velegi completed her studies at Pázmány Péter Catholic University Faculty of Law and Political Sciences and at Budapest Institution of Banking. During her university studies, she was actively engaged in advocacy activities for people with disabilities: first, she worked for a non-governmental organisation, representing individuals with hearing impairment, and later for the Hungarian Federation of the Blind and Partially Sighted (MVGYOSZ) as a lawyer. Her first-hand experience encouraged her to do a research in which she examined equal opportunities for customers with visual impairment in the financial sector. Her research was honoured with a special award at the 36th National Student Scientific Conference, and lead to numerous fruitful collaborations with financial institutions and law firms. After optaining her cum laude law degree, her scope of interest expanded: alongside her responsibilities as the professional leader of MVGYOSZ, she is pursuing her studies at Pázmány Péter Catholic University Doctoral School of Law and Political Sciences. Her doctoral research focuses on the accessibility of online and offline customer interfaces of businesses with respect to EU law, competition law and consumer protection law
