Kamilla CSOMAI is the CEO and a member of the Board of MAVIR Hungarian Independent Transmission Operator Company Ltd., as well as a member of the Board of ENTSO-E (European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity) encompassing 43 transmission system operators of 36 countries. She exercises proprietary rights over HUPX Ltd. (Hungarian Power Exchange Company), KOM Central Smart Metering Ltd, JAO (Joint Allocation Office) and TSCNET (TSO Security Cooperation).
MAVIR is the transmission operator of the Hungarian electricity system as well as the owner and operator of the high voltage transmission network. The company’s main tasks are the provision of a reliable, efficient and secure operation of the Hungarian electricity system including required reserve capacities of generation and transmission. In addition, it ensures an undisturbed operation and further extension of the electricity market and the balance group system supporting the market, furthermore it synchronises the operation of the Hungarian electricity system with the neighbouring systems.
Within this complex system, Kamilla’s task covers the operative and strategic management of the company, i.e. ensuring an efficient, secure and economical operation of company. Furthermore, she actively participates in international cooperation initiatives so as to represent the interests of the company and those of the Hungarian electricity system.
She has been working for MAVIR since 2010 in various positions. She has substantial professional and managerial experience within the industry which she could also gain earlier as deputy CEO for Economic and Market Operations of MAVIR, chief financial officer for MVM OVIT National Power Line Company Ltd. and also as a primary leader in sectors of telecommunications and investment.
Kamilla is an engineer, certified public auditor, whereas she received her MBA degree at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
