Bill Watson

William R. Watson is the Managing Partner of Value4Capital, a Poland and Central European-focused private equity firm. Bill began investing in central Europe in 1992 with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) as an early member in Hungary and was the first merchant banker based in the local office. He continued with Baring Private Equity Partners from 1997 and Société Générale Asset Management from 2005. In October 2011 he and his partners spun-out with the fund raised under the SGAM brand to become Value4Capital. They are currently investing their 2017 vintage V4C Poland Plus Fund. A Canadian and French citizen, he has been a board member at portfolio companies across central Europe, including EGIS Pharmaceutical in Hungary during its privatisation, MedLIfe in Romania at the time of its initial national expansion and currently Doktor24 in Hungary. He played an active role in the industry as a member of Invest Europe’s Mid-Market Platform Council from 2012 to 2018 and a member and then Chairman of its Professional Standards Committee. He is currently Chairman of the Invest Europe CEE Task Force.
