Tamás Bereczki is an attorney-at-law specializing in data protection, information security, IT, and technology. Alongside his legal career, he earned a degree in engineering informatics in 2011. He has worked in the financial industry as a consultant for one of the Big4, and later as a collaborating lawyer at a globally international law firm specialized in data protection, cyber law, and telecommunications law. Currently he is a partner at PROVARIS Varga & Partners. He has extensive experience in information security and data protection management, risk management, data protection impact assessments, risk analyses, implementing and auditing management systems according to ISO 27001 standards, managing data protection management systems, incident and cybersecurity management, and managing risks associated with suppliers and cloud services, primarily in the financial and pharmaceutical sectors. He has advised on the technological and IT aspects of several legal transactions and conducted several IT audits. He regularly provides advice on data protection, data governance, information security, cybersecurity, and technology regulation, primarily for global clients in the pharmaceutical, automotive, IT services, and healthcare sectors. He is the chair of the International Association of Privacy Professionals [IAPP] KnowledgeNet Hungary chapter.
