Arun Arora is a Partner with McKinsey in Paris. He has been a Partner in Chicago and Madrid prior. He has 25 years of technical and operational experience in the United States with a track record of creating, building and managing successful technology led businesses. Arun has led the business, technology as well as customer transformations in several companies, including most recently CEO and President, of a retail and services business in the US with a combined $8.3 Billion in Revenues which grew to over $10bn in less than 24 months. He initiated the creation of the first digital business unit by hiring an all external team of 62 experts. The digital business generated a revenue run rate of $2 bn incremental in five months. The combined digital and retail business of approx. ~$10bn was sold to private equity in 2015. Built data science team and implemented machine learning to greatly improve the first time resolution from 61% to 77% in less than 6 months. Prior to Sears, Arun was SVP/GM Global e-commerce. Arun was responsible for running the day-to-day business for Staples.com and Staples mobile properties which when combined were globally $12 billion in revenues and the #2 online e-commerce website behind Amazon. He managed data science and analytics to help drive actionable insights for the business. He also drove key initiatives for Staples’ e-commerce business, including product roadmap for both online and mobile, online returns, and rollouts such as AI based dynamic pricing rules. Drove the prioritization and alignment of activities throughout the B2B and B2C segments-from retail with the e-commerce business between IT, Business teams, Marketing and Brand. Arun came to Staples from Groupon, where he most recently served as Head of Global Operations In this role he actively managed and established operating discipline for each business of Groupon following their IPO. He helped scale the business from $100M to $2B in less than 8 months, while developing expectations and standards that allowed Groupon’s business to be managed globally. Prior to Groupon Arun was a senior executive at Sun Microsystems and 3M. At Apple, Arun was a Product Manager for OS X, Technical Advisor to the CEO, and was responsible for the initial concept, prototypes and built the first 43 retail stores at Apple with an integration to the offering of Apple’s e-commerce channel and shared orchestration of all product management, marketing and technical resources. Arun holds a MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BS in Finance, from the University of Kansas. He also has attended the London School of Economics
