László Ábrahám since 2001 he has been executive director of NI Hungary Kft. in Debrecen. He has established the fabrication where hardware units of virtual instruments are manufactured on the high-tech SMT production line. Today near 1200 employees work not only in production, but also in one of the many regional and global back office centers. He also introduced the Lean project and established distribution. He also cares for assisting future engineers: we wrote an SMT textbook with AmCham, and he is president of the Committee of Electronics Producers as well. As president of the Association “Together for Future Engineers” his aim is to achieve closer cooperation between higher education and industry. He acts as a Deputy President of the Commercial and Industrial Chamber of Hajdú-Bihar County. His determinant role in education was confirmed by the Kármán Tódor Prize he was awarded in 2011 and the Pro Urbe Prize in 2012. He received the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic for participating in world-class developments and establishing knowledge-based workplaces in Hungary. In 2014 he was awarded the Wahrmann Mór Medal for promoting Hungarian R&D, as well as education. In 2008 he was voted Manager of the Year.
