Fuel prices to be lowered in Hungary on Wednesday

Hungarian energy group Mol is set to lower its wholesale gross list prices of motor fuels on Wednesday and retail prices are expected to be adjusted accordingly, fuel price tracking site holtankoljak.hu reported on Monday.

The wholesale gross list price of petrol will be cut by HUF 5 per litre, while the price of diesel will be lowered by HUF 8 per litre on 8 November. Accordingly, we should find the following (average) prices at petrol stations: 

  • 95-octane petrol: HUF 605 /litre
  • Diesel: HUF 631 /litre

Compared to 20 September (the peak this year), however, the price of petrol was lowered by 8.6% (HUF 57) and that of diesel by 8% (HUF 55).
