COVID-19 in Hungary: 4,211 new cases, 136 dead on Tuesday

Since the outbreak began a year ago, 439,900 Hungarian citizens have been confirmed as infected, a number which rose by 4,211 yesterday. Unfortunately, the pandemic curve is again clearly showing a faster spread of the virus.

The same goes for the number of new cases, as the latest figures suggest the spread of the virus is now matching the speed seen last November.

The number of fatalities is also rising as 136 people succumbed to the disease yesterday, the highest daily figure since December.

There are now 6,367 coronavirus patients in hospital, 296 more than a day earlier, and 622 of them are receiving artificial ventilation.

The number of tests applied yesterday was 25,723, with a 16.37% positivity rate.

Vaccination is continuing in Hungary. 758,037 people have received a coronavirus vaccine so far, and 253,368 have also received the second shot. Vaccination coverage is now at 7.76% and 2.59%, respectively.
