Hungarian authorities confirmed 1,548 new coronavirus (COVID-19) infections on Tuesday, bringing the total since last March to 391,170. The death toll rose to 13,931 after the disease claimed the lives of 94, mostly elderly or chronic, patients. There are currently 4,014 coronavirus patients in hospital and 321 on ventilators. 348,9127 people have received a vaccine and 134,824 got a second shot.

Although daily case numbers are fluctuating, the seven-day moving average unfortunately indicates the spread of the virus is on the rise again in Hungary.

The number of fatalities has not continued the increase seen in recent days, but it is too early to talk about trends.

The number of severe cases treated in hospital and that of people receiving artificial ventilation also increased in the past 24 hours, by 35 and 3, respectively.
