COVID-19 in Hungary: just 902 new cases on Monday

Hungarian authorities confirmed 902 new coronavirus (COVID-19) infections on Monday, increasing the total since March to 317,571. The death toll rose to 9,292 after the disease claimed the lives of 131, mostly elderly or chronic, patients in the past 24 hours. The number of recoveries is 138,365 and that of active cases is 19,914. There are currently 6,298 coronavirus patients in hospital, with 444 of them on ventilators.

Daily new cases again remained low, so the seven-day moving average continued to decline.

Although the number of fatalities was higher than in the previous couple of days, the seven-day average keeps falling.

Meanwhile, the number of people treated in hospital has been rising for the third day in a row, although the number of patients receiving artificial ventilation dropped slightly yesterday.

There have been a total of 317,571 coronavirus cases identified in Hungary since the beginning of the outbreak, while the total number of fatalities is 9,292.
