Hungary Wizz Air denies co-operation with other carriers

Hungary’s Wizz Air is not considering offering connecting tickets either on its own network or through a cooperation with other airlines, a carrier's representative has told Air Transport World
Wizz Air had previously repeatedly dismissed following other European LCCs, such as Ryanair (FR, Dublin Int'l) and easyJet (U2, London Luton), which have entered into partnerships with other airlines and started selling connecting tickets to passengers, ch-aviation.com reported on 30 April.

We believe in our brand and we want to protect it. We want to keep the control over the whole travel process and that's why we sell our tickets ourselves. We don't feel the need to cooperate with other carriers or to sign interline agreements because this would worsen our own results, Wizz Air's Chief Marketing Officer, Johan Eidhagen, told Pasazer.com last year.

In May 2017, Ryanair announced a partnership with Spain's Air Europa covering connecting transatlantic services through Madrid Barajas. In 2018, the carrier announced a similar cooperation with Aer Lingus covering flights via Dublin Int'l. The Irish LCC is also reportedly in talks with Air Malta and sells connecting tickets within its own network via Milan Bergamo, Rome Fiumicino, and Porto.

For its part, EasyJet cooperates with a number of carriers including Norwegian, WestJet, and Loganair.
