Budapest Bank has new Chief Executive

Portfolio
Budapest Bank has a new Chief Executive Officer as of 1 January 2018. Koppány Lélfai is arriving from BB’s current owner, the Hungarian Development Bank (MFB). The privatisation of Budapest Bank is yet to start, and we still do not know who the bank could be sold off to.
Koppány Lélfai, the new CEO of Budapest Bank Zrt., has already been in close co-operation with BB’s management as Deputy CEO of MFB. He has been Chairman of Budapest Bank’s Board of Directors since 1 April 2017, and as such he was actively taking part in the bank’s management and the making of strategic decisions. Former acting CEO Viktor Tóth continues his career at Budapest Bank.

Lélfai worked at MFB Zrt. between 2000 and 2011, first in the business and later in the legal department. Up until November 2016 he was Chief Executive of fund management company Bethlen Gábor Alapkezelő Zrt., and was appointed Deputy CEO and internal BoD member at MFB Zrt. in November 2016.
