Management buyout at Hungary's Portfolio
Net Média Group is the publisher of online economic and financial portal Portfolio, household finance-focused penzcentrum.hu and agricultural portal agrarszektor.hu. The company organises numerous conferences and other events in Budapest, all over the country and abroad. It also comprises stock exchange trading site Portfolio Online Tőzsde and financial data provider Portfolio Financial. Following the transaction the buyers also own CEMP Trade Ltd., which offers foreign exchange and CFD trading services under the Alfatrader brand name. The buyers financed the management buyout transaction from loan and own resources.
The company offers integrated B2B and B2C services. Only about one-third of its 2016 revenue is related to the media business. The new owners intend to increase presence on foreign markets, step up B2B services and are committed to the development of the financial culture of the SME sector. New cities are expected to be added to the current list of foreign venues (London, Vienna, Bucharest, Belgrade).
Gabriella Balogh is member of CEMP Group’s Board of Directors, member of the Hungarian Football Association’s (MLSZ) Board and helps the activity of several foundations.
Zoltán Bán joined Net Média in 2000 and has been its Chief Executive Officer since 2009.
